Video Tutorial:
Accessing FCH Virtual Lab Environment
You can access the virtual lab environment and Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine), by navigating to https://labs.floridacyberhub.org. The FCH Virtual Lab Environment is accessible using any major browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. Your lab environment and applications have already been configured based on the course(s) you are currently enrolled in.
Below are some common terms used in FCH Virtual Lab Environment
- FCH Login Page
- At this login page, you will need to use your credentials provided to you in your 'Welcome to Florida CyberHub' email you should have received at the start of your course.
- FCH Home Page
- Includes Shortcut Panel ( Course Labs, Support & Feedback, Productivity) and Favorites (default favorites).
- FCH Top Menu
- HOME - Includes the FCH Control Panel & Favorites.
- APPS - Includes all the applications and web browsers for course use.
- Magnifying Glass - For any quick searches within the FCH environment.
- Settings Icon - Used to Sign Out of FCH environment.
- Shortcut Panel
- Course Labs Shortcut - Includes Web Browsers, Lab Broker, and Windows File Explorer.
- Support & Feedback Shortcut - Includes FCH Feedback Page, FCH Getting Started Article, and FCH Support Portal.
- Productivity - Includes Microsoft Office and Open Office Tools (tools vary on depending institution).
- Favorites
- The applications below will be the configured default favorites but can be set to your choosing by selecting and deselecting the star on the application tab, similar to the one below.
- FCH APPS Page
- Includes all the applications and web browsers for course use, similarly to the Shortcut Panel found on the FCH Home Page.
- Feedback
- This icon/application is found in the Shortcut Panel, Favorites, and APPS tab.
- Feedback application will direct users to a feedback form where our Support Engineers will review and implement any changes/feedback. This will allow us to improve the end-user experience when in the FCH Virtual Lab Environment.
- Getting Started
- This icon/application is found in the Shortcut Panel, Favorites, and APPS tab.
- Getting Started application will direct users to our Florida CyberHub Support page. This page will work as a gateway to getting in contact with our Support Engineers by clicking 'Submit a Request' at the top right.
- This page will also contain additional support for enhancing the users' experience when in the FCH Virtual Lab Environment. All useful articles and videos can be found under the 'Start Here: FCH Virtual Lab Environment'.
- Help
- This icon/application is found in the Shortcut Panel, Favorites, and APPS tab.
- Help application will direct users to our 'Submit a request' page similar to the one mentioned above in the Getting Started application.
- Here end-users will submit a request where our Support Engineers will assist with technical issues associated with the environment or with the Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine) created so you can perform your lab exercises.
Note: Support Engineers are not instructors or teaching assistants. Therefore, course or project content-related issues, which require subject matter expertise, should be directed to the instructor.
- Windows File Explorer
- This icon/application is found in the Shortcut Panel, Favorites, and APPS tab.
- This will work as your virtual desktop, containing the file(s) that can be used for course work.
- File(s) that are downloaded from the Internet by default should appear in the Downloads folder unless the destination has been specified.
- File(s) needed to be transferred into a Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine):
- In a Windows environment, users will need to right-click Copy on the file (located in the Windows File Explorer) and right-click Paste into Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine).
- In a Linux environment, users will need to drag the file (located in the Windows File Explorer) and drop the file into the Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine).

- Lab Broker (Immersion)
- This icon/application is found in the Shortcut Panel, Favorites, and APPS tab.
- This application will work as a gateway portal that allows users to connect to their Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine).
- Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine) assigned to the user will appear here with their designated course(s) number.
- Credentials for Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine):
- Username: admin
- Password: 123

- Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine)
- Your Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine) Desktop will have a background image similar to the one displayed below.
- The Sandbox Client (Virtual Machine) is cut off from any internet access for security measures. To use the Internet locate the APPS tab from the FCH Top Menu, and choose any of the web browsers provided.
